The never ending question about buying a fake versus buying authentic. But what else is it that might suffer if you bought a fake, apart from the designers profits? Well, you will.

Ooh, topical question!

I suppose the best way to answer this question is by asking one in return!

If you bought a fake for any reason except for the price difference — what do you expect to get from the deal?

Would you buy a fake for any other reason than price?

Thinking honestly — I can’t think of any reason other than ‘making a saving’ for buying a fake bag.

After all, surely one of the biggest problems with buying a fake bag is the knowledge that it won’t be made of the same quality material or build? If it doesn’t fall apart within the first 4 — 6 weeks, then you’re lucky. I’d be awfully surprised to find your luck extending much beyond two to three months at most.

Even if the bag doesn’t literally fall to pieces, the appearance of it will change hugely. Edges will fray and tear, stitches will pull and shred and the general appearance of the bag will dull, the leather losing it’s rigidity and ability to hold the shape it’s supposed to!

So the bag that you bought for $150 as opposed to $600 has given you about three to four months use before it is starting to look embarassing, quite frankly!

Now, maybe you could buy three of the same bag, save $150 and have something you wouldn’t feel to ashamed to be seen with for up to a year. Just bin the old ruined one, change your bag for a new one each quarter and you’re away.

But that sort of puts you onto the timescale where the authentic designer handbag is just starting to be broken in.

It’s gaining suppleness, the leather trims are starting to age and patina, going that gorgeous golden honey color that indicates quality leather. The bag has a used and loved look about it without any of the nasty signs of wear and tear that an inferior version will have.

And this is one of the biggest reasons for the price being what it is.

Quality.

Quality of build and quality of materials used.

Authentic designer handbags are built to last — sometimes they’ll last a lifetime and beyond, making it a family heirloom that’s passed down from daughter to daughter.

It is very common for Hermes Birkin and Kelly bags to be in a family for decades — being used and loved all the time.

Some of the newer Louis Vuitton lines, such as the Suhali, can be expected to outlast just about anything else.

It’s the quality of the leather you see!

Another good reason for buying authentic and not a fake?

You.

Yes — you! You’re important. You don’t think so?

(Well, I think you are, even if no one else tells you so!)

You deserve something to be proud of, something that stands you out in a crowd and says “Hey — Look at me, I’ve got taste AND class!” That’s what an authentic designer handbag will shout for you — no need for you to get a sore throat all the time.

I wonder what a fake shouts out about you?

Careful now – it might be rather rude!!!

The weight that a lady carries on her shoulders with the handbag on would depend upon the number of things that she would call essentials. The list of essentials would differ from one woman to another but there are certain things which would remain the same for everyone.

Women would typically carry cell phones in their bags. The weight of the cell phone would vary depending on the kind of the model one has. Though, it should not be contributing that much as women like the light weight slim phones as compared to the bulky and heavy ones. Then, she would definitely have a small vanity pouch in the bag. The weight of the cosmetics should not be much, but one never knows if the lady is carrying moisturizers and body lotions along in the bags. And in case, these bottles are anything but the mini handbag bottles, the weight of these could be counted in.

The wallet and the coin purse would be the next that a woman would definitely carry in her bag. In case, the coin purse is a serious business, the weight of the coins could add pounds to the bag. A couple of clothes like a pair or bikini, or a cap, a silk scarf and all things of that nature would add to the bulk of the bag. Women would usually have cloth bag for an impulsive grocery or other shopping. Carrying an extra shade and a pair of eye glasses is also noticed. Umbrellas and wet tissues would also add to the total weight of the bags.

The above mentioned things are the bare minimum. Women would keep adding to the list as per their specific needs and thus the weight of the bag would be always on a rising edge. Considering that, women should be looking at the actual weight of the handbag they are going for. As with the things that would go into the bag, the bag would also have some additional weight. And all this weight would total up to the burden to the delicate shoulder of a woman. Bags like Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Babylone Handbag could be considered the one that would not only have strong handles but at the same time would have the least weight.

Buying designer bags could not be easy for everyone, hence, the replicas or the imitation designer bags could be looked at as an alternative. Imitations can be available at less than half the prices at the Louis Vuitton fake collection. That doesn’t mean that it would be only non- designer bags that could be available to match the ideal weight criteria. Taking time out to wonder about the local market could also help women with many cost effective options. There are non-designer brands in the market which are known for quality.

At last, answers to such burning questions as "How do I keep my handbag organized?", "How do I choose the right handbag for my size and body type?", and "What to buy if you're too young to look old?"

Q. What can I do to keep my handbag organized?

–Losing It

A. It all begins with selecting the right handbag for your lifestyle. Inner and outer pockets and zippered sections help sort and separate the contents. Limit the contents to those basics you really need each day: cash, credit cards, keys, lipstick, and planner. Your chiropractor will thank you. If you need additional beauty products consider a small makeup case that will prevent spills. If you find yourself lugging around an umbrella, paperback, file folders, baby formula, toys, camera, snacks and more, either consider a larger tote-style bag that can accommodate all your needs. Or consider keeping a separate bag with these items in your car or office. Another option that works for some women is carrying a small clutch purse (that’s quick to grab and go) in a larger tote-type briefcase. Whichever option you choose, remember to regularly purge the store receipts, old tissues, lint-covered candies, and business cards that can load you down and steal precious space.

Q. How can I stash everything I need for my busy work life without resorting to wheeled luggage?

–Desperate

A. Look for one of today’s totally hot briefcases. Opt for one with both long and short padded straps and lots of interior pockets. Consider using a laptop case or postman style bag. Either will accommodate file folders, brochures, and other office paraphernalia and you’ll look great too.

Q. I hate the “new” handbags with all the straps, tassels, buckles, rivets and more. I refuse to buy one because I consider myself too old for all that stuff. But…I don’t want to look like my grandma either. Help me.

–Too young to look old

A. As in all things fashion, it’s best to be aware of the trends but ultimately to do only what’s right for you. You don’t want to be a fashion lemming following the masses off the cliff of good taste just to fit in. You may choose to opt for a simpler, cleaner style (with less ‘stuff’ happening) in one of the season’s newest colors—but only if it’s a color you love and will use long term, not because someone else deemed it a “must have.”

Q. How do I choose the right handbag for my size and body type?

—Want to Get it Right
A. You need to think proportion. If you’re a tall, large-framed woman yoo can pull off anything but a teeny-tiny bag. If you’re petit, many large bags will simply overpower you and be all wrong proportion-wise. Ensure you check out the look in a full-length mirror or if ordering online, compare the product dimensions with those bags you already own that are perfect sized for you.
Q. Sometimes I feel like the fashion industry is holding me hostage. “Experts” proclaim the season’s “it” bag, anoint the greatest designer ever, decide what you must have to be anyone. I’m sick of it. What do you suggest?

–I’m mad as hell and not taking it anymore

A. I don’t blame you, Mad as Hell. Every woman is capable of making the right choice for herself, based on lifestyle, budget, and needs. It doesn’t matter who made it, but rather who chose it. Widen your options by buying an eclectic mix of both inexpensive (but well-made) and couture bags. Visit vintage stores or granny’s attic looking for quality, well-made, beautiful, one-of-a-kind old bags to augment your wardrobe. You’re not in high school anymore, carve out your own path, make your own choices, express your own creativity and panache.

What a frustrating experience!

We can all remember a time when we reached into our bag to find something, and ended up hunting around for what seemed like an hour, coming upon the same items again and again and never finding what we were looking for in the first place. What a frustrating experience! There are certain must-have items that belong in one’s handbag, and the receipt collection from purchases you made two years ago does not fall into this category. Let’s take a look at what is really essential, and leave the other items out of it.

Lipstick

This should go without saying, but you would be surprised just how many women are caught in a place where they want to look good, like when they see an old boyfriend in a store, and have absolutely nothing to freshen up with! You may be a more traditional lipstick kind of girl, the kind who still wears a natural, matte finish and likes to put it on once and be done with it. If this is the case, make sure to have a neutral peach with you. This color is good on most skin hues, and it will be perfect for daytime in any season. It will stay fresh in a matte finish, whereas some darker shades such as plum or red can get pinkish, faded, or worse yet feather throughout the day.

If you like your lips a bit more slick and you’re a gloss kind of girl, you have more options. Your best bet is still a lighter shade, which you can reapply as often as you like without worry. A peach works well here for you too, but you can also go for a deeper tone without worrying about overuse or over-application. Either way, lipstick or lip gloss of some kind, preferably one of your favorites, is an absolutely essential handbag item.

Mirror

A compact mirror is almost as critical as the lipstick. How else are you going to apply it in a pinch? Especially if you are the type who likes to line her lips, you can have quite a messy scene on your hands if you do not have a compact mirror available to apply your gloss or lipstick. A mirror is important for a lot of reasons: To check your teeth after lunching with a friend, to check your hair and face while your date is in the bathroom, or to get something out of your eye or put drops in your eyes when your contact lenses are bothering you. You can get the cutest, most stylish mirrors now for your bag. The best kinds are the ones that open to a double mirror, where one side is magnified and the other is not. Although magnifying mirrors aren’t always the most flattering, they can be very helpful!

Driver’s License

This may seem silly, or obvious. However, many a woman has been stopped by a police officer only to be embarrassed enough to have to tell him that she left her license in another bag. Make sure you have it in the one you are carrying before you head out! If you are young enough to be of questionable drinking age, the driver’s license is a necessity when meeting a friend or date for a cocktail. How horrible would it be to spend hours getting ready for a date, or getting excited after a long work week to meet friends on a Friday happy hour, only to get carded at the door of your local pub and not be allowed in? You can prevent this by checking your bag before you leave and making certain you have your driver’s license with you.

Cell phone

These days, the cell phone is truly most everyone’s lifeline. This is probably the most important item of all! It is just about as unlikely that you will forget this item as it is your keys, but should you leave it at home, you may as well just turn around. The chances of your leaving your phone at home increase if you are one of the any women who change handbags daily. If this is you, double-check your bag and make sure your phone is not in another one! There is nothing more embarrassing than getting caught in traffic and arriving somewhere late and not being able to extend the courtesy of a phone call to let the other party know. Don’t let this happen to you; check your bag!

Pen

The fifth most important item is a pen. Even in the day and age where a cell phone contains almost everything you need and you can key in virtually all necessary information, sometimes it is just easier and quicker to jot something down. We can all remember a time where we frantically searched for a pen while listening to the radio and wanting to write something down. How about the many times something came to mind while driving and you forgot it by the time you got home because you had no way to commit it to memory? A pen takes up very little space in a handbag yet it is a crucial item to have.

So there you have it: Lipstick, mirror, driver’s license, phone, and pen. You should need little else, but even if you are one to carry lots of “just in case” items with you, these five should be in your bag at all times.

Designer Butterfly offers a fresh and trustworthy approach to selling designer handbags online. No more guessing on authenticity.

Designer Butterfly opened its virtual doors this summer with a fresh approach to selling designer handbags. The owners of Designer Butterfly have been studying what people want from authentic handbag websites…proof of authenticity. Selling designer handbags has been going on for many years on the internet, but one of the biggest problems for buyers has been trying to decipher which sites sell authentic vs. counterfeit bags. Most websites will show one or two photos from a distance, making it difficult to ascertain its authenticity. Designer Butterfly lays all their cards on the table by showing detailed, up close photos of their products. There is no need to worry about what you get from Designer Butterfly. With today’s technology, Designer Butterfly believes that there is no need to not give detailed photos. They strongly believe it is up to the seller to prove the authenticity and make the buyer feel safe. The right designer bag for you is an investment, and therefore you want to know what you are getting.

Designer Butterfly offers a range of products, from Gucci and Fendi, to Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess and more. They also offer designer baby clothing.

Designer Butterfly also offers a forum for people to chat about their purses and other fashion fetishes. They also offer their services through their forums to help to find authentic designer bags that they may not carry. Their newest game is the “Purse-onality”…if you were a purse, what kind would you be?

Visit Designer Butterfly for peace of mind in shopping for your authentic handbags.

www.designerbutterfly.com

Designer Butterfly sells authentic designer handbags such as Gucci, Fendi, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, and more. If we don’t have what you want, we will help you look for an AUTHENTIC one, even if it’s not with us. Come stop by and chat on our boards or our chat rooms.

Blending classic structure with just enough comfortable slouch to produce one of the most flattering silhouettes on the market, Balenciaga bags are at the top of the favorites list of seemingly every Hollywood fashionista.

Balenciaga handbags are known for their incredibly soft, lightweight, durable leather with a characteristically distressed appearance of wrinkles, lines, and folds. They feature their purses in both black and white every season, but otherwise vary their wide rainbow of colors. Hardware tends to be abundant and in weathered finishes. The Balenciaga look is so distinctive – and stylishly flattering- that retailers who specialize in handbags count purses inspired by Balenciaga among their most popular selections.

Born in 1895 in the Basque region of northern Spain, founder Cristobal Balenciaga opened his first shops in Madrid and Barcelona in 1915, and then moved to Paris during the Spanish Civil War. His Avenue George V salon quickly gained popularity among such fashion powerhouses as Carmel Snow, the celebrated editor whose famous words, “Elegance is good taste, plus a dash of daring,” could have been uttered to describe Balenciaga’s style exclusively. Christian Dior once referred to him as “the master of us all” for his impact on couture silhouettes in women’s fashion.

His impact was far-reaching, as his protégés included Hubert de Givenchy, Andre Courreges, Emanuel Ungaro, and Oscar de la Renta. Years of training as a master tailor enabled Balenciaga to drape and fit clothing in a way no other designer could, leading to the development of his universally flattering design hallmarks – spare lines, sculptural approaches, and intriguing shapes like the funnel dress, square coat, and bubble skirt.

Balenciaga was a socialite favorite, and his designs epitomized 1950s and 1960s haute couture, especially when worn by such fashion icons as Jackie Kennedy. After he closed his salon doors in 1968, the fashion world felt the loss for decades. Now under the ownership of the Gucci Group, the house is enjoying renewed popularity with French designer Nicolas Ghesquiere leading as creative director.

Ghesquiere joined Balenciaga in 1995, with initial assignments spent designing prêt-a-porter for the Asian market. (His earlier years in the industry included stints as assistant to Jean-Paul Gaultier, freelance knitwear designer, and various jobs at several other fashion houses.)

Hailed as one of our generation’s most influential designers – and certainly one of the hottest! – Nicolas Ghesquiere has restored the fashion house to its earlier status as a style forerunner. His first line was the eclectic, innovative Le Dix collection, which produced the wildly popular Balenciaga motorcycle-inspired handbags.

Blending classic structure with just enough comfortable slouch to produce one of the most flattering silhouettes on the market, these bags are at the top of the favorites list of seemingly every Hollywood fashionista. Nicole Richie purportedly purchased the Lariat in at least five colors. Other fans include Christina Aguilera, Cameron Diaz, Sienna Miller, Jessica Alba, Kate Moss, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Ghesquiere retains these qualities while reviving many of the classic Balenciaga features in the Edition collection. Ladylike glamour enters the Balenciaga offerings in the form of elegant quilting, chic satchels, and special embellishments (like the crystal-encrusted broach and dainty wristlet on one new bag). Lindsay Lohan was recently photographed with the Lariat updated with latticework quilting.

Like his forebear, Ghesquiere is now a designer to watch. His impact on contemporary fashion – especially silhouettes – is growing by leaps and bounds, and his many fans include Anna Wintour, U.S. Vogue’s editor-in-chief, as well as a veritable slew of celebrity fashionistas. With him at the helm, Balenciaga will undoubtedly continue to produce handbags that hold top spots on everyone’s list of must-have accoutrements.
